Hi there, I’m Meg

The face behind the camera. The face of a person who loves sunrises & sunsets, is happiest when filled with hot chocolate, can usually be found surrounded by horses and dogs and is most content by the sea.

A warm hello and thank you for taking the time to be here.

I’m 23 years old, a self taught Photographer, animal lover and born & bred Yorkshire lass. Home is a village in North Yorkshire, where I live with my slightly wild Labrador, Ted. He takes up most of my spare time along with my (thankfully) less crazy ex racehorse Nitwit, and they both share my huge love of exploring the countryside & going to the beach.

So how did I end up here…

I finished my A Levels in 2018, and started full time as a Racing Secretary at Philip Kirby Racing, a racing yard 5 minutes from home where I spent every weekend and school holiday since I was 14. I’d always enjoyed being out with my camera, but it wasn't until COVID forced the country into lockdown that my love for it really became apparent.

I lived in the staff house on the yard at Phil’s, surrounded by 100 acres of horses and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. With very little else to do I decided to do an online course in photography - I’d be up before sunrises and in the fields with my camera all day until after the sun had set. As we came out of lockdown, things slowly began to return to normal - work in the office ramped up and I didn’t have as much time for photography.

However in the Summer of 2022 I made the leap to do this full time, whilst also spending lots of time on the Welsh Coast as part of the team at Christian Williams Racing. And Christmas came early that year when winning the Emerging Talent Award at the HWPA Derby Awards in London.

Since then I’m delighted to of joined the team of photographers at Cheltenham Racecourse, and I look forward to working for Bath Racecourse as their official photographer for the upcoming 2024 flat season - whilst also continuing to work with industry professionals and racing yards all over the country.

Alongside my Equine Photography I have also spent the last few years gaining experience as a Wedding Photographer and I’m delighted to add this to my list of services from 2024. If you’d like to enquire about capturing your special day, please get in touch!

My camera has taken me to some wonderful places and allowed me to meet so many special people, but this is only the start of my journey, and I hope you’ll be part of the future.

Meg x
